- The Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin, were the so-called Red Army. They were a group of workers and soldiers who fought for Marxist Socialism. They fought against the White Army, a group of people fighting for capitalism, democracy, and other ideals. There was also the Green Army, who had no political ideology and fought both sides. The Red Army eventually won and that led to the creation of the USSR, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
